Secret Bookcase Doorway

Idea

To use 2 existing Ikea Billy bookcases as a swing open door between the living room and a bedroom.

Problem: Doorway is not plumb.

Solution:

Problem: Floor is not Level.

Solution

Solution 1: Add a layer of cement
Solution 2: Pair with wood/tiles (1.5cm thick in Living room and 1cm thick in Bedroom) with corresponding slope at the fringes.

Problem: Bookcase is not rigid enough for the Hinge/Pivot

Flush Bookcase. Bookcase is made from scratch. Hinge is on the side. How to resolve the bookcase not closing properly.

Flush Bookcase, Modify existing bookcase. Hinge is on top and bottom.
